A little kindness can go a long way. It’s a value we can practice in every aspect of our lives.
It’s not always a grand gesture – kindness can be subtle. Don’t underestimate the impact a small act can make – holding a door open for the next person, letting someone in your lane during rush hour, a smile, a phone call.
Bring kindness to the forefront of all your interactions … you never know what someone is going through.
Children often remind us to be kind – they wave and smile freely at strangers. Everyone is their friend. They’re eager to share things and fellowship with others.
Offering kindness to someone who hasn’t offered you the same takes courage, but it can reap big rewards. It can help diffuse a situation and offer a judgment-free solution. Try thinking about it this way: unkind people are likely starved for kindness and need it the most.
Someone’s unkindness isn’t a free pass to abandon our values and be rude in return. Look for self-control and understanding in these moments.
Today’s Peace of Wisdom can be found in generously showing kindness.
