Do you trust yourself? It might sound like a silly question, but think about it for a moment.
Self-trust is recognizing your capacity to handle what life throws at you. When you build self-trust you can possess confidence and comfort in knowing that you find a way to make it work no matter what happens.
How can you build self-trust? Keep the promises you make to others and, more importantly, yourself.
That means if you set a goal to workout three times a week – DO IT! If you say you’ll finish a project by Tuesday – make it happen! In other words, mean what you say and say what you mean.
Another way to build self trust is to stay reasonable. Be quick to recognize when you are over-committing or spreading yourself too thin.
There’s no quicker way to feel like you’re failing than by overpromising and under-delivering. It’s great to be ambitious – just be sure to set realistic timelines and goals.
If you ever begin to doubt yourself, remember – you’ve done hard things before, and can do them again!
Today’s Peace of Wisdom can be found in building self-trust by believing in your ability, standing by your word, and setting realistic expectations.
