Good to see Dan again. I was in his first Life Skills class this past summer. I am a list maker. I keep an elaborate planner complete with stickers and color coded events and goals. Most of the time it helps me stay focused, but there are times it causes me distress also. I am a perfectionist and when it comes to a decision that I am truly torn about, I will sometimes do exactly as Dan described. It is in those moments that my faith is tested. Do I lean on God? Do I lean on my planner with all it’s frills and colors? Do I lean on other’s opinions of me? Taking a step back and a deep breath and just stop working at it makes a huge difference. That is, I think, what is meant by giving it to God.
