Ever heard you’re too old, too young, not smart enough, not talented enough?

John Clem wanted to fight for the Union Army, but he was nine years old and small. He persisted until the 22nd Michigan let him join as a drummer. At age twelve, he shot a Confederate colonel who had demanded his surrender. “Johnny Shiloh” served a long career in the Army and retired as a Major General.

Young William Henry Pratt left England for America to be an actor. He labored in backbreaking obscurity, refusing to give up! At age 43, he was cast as a monster. That film was Frankenstein. Today, we know the “overnight success” as Boris Karloff. 

And you’ve heard of Daniel “Rudy” Ruettiger, the little guy whose own family laughed in his face when he told them he was going to play football for Notre Dame. With a great deal of blood, sweat, and tears, he did.

When you dream, there will always be people who will tell you you’re not good enough. I say don’t let anyone ele’s opinion become your reality.  Have the courage to continue and keep your eyes on the prize…even if it’s only in your imagination for now.
