Peace of Wisdom

Autopilot

By Andy Andrews

Ever catch yourself driving and realize you haven’t really been paying attention? For a few moments, you were stuck on autopilot—until you snap back, startled that you drifted without even noticing.

That same thing can happen in life.

I have ideas. The thoughts are there. But they’re foggy, blurry—almost hidden behind the day-to-day parts of life that don’t fall into the artistic, creative side of my career, which I truly enjoy.

It’s like living with a subtle drift into routine, where days blend, actions become unthinking habits, and genuine engagement fades away. When that happens, clarity takes a hit—and productivity follows.

If you’ve ever felt like a robot following code—creativity dulled and longing for more—there’s no better time than now to push back against it.

Start small. Take a different route home. Try that new restaurant you’ve been eyeing. Play a different radio station. Learn something new simply for the joy of it.

Remember, there’s a big difference between consistency and complacency. One keeps you steady. The other quietly shuts you down.

Today’s “Peace of Wisdom” can be found when you switch OFF the autopilot.
