Gabe Wicks has been a recognized creative force in the recording industry for more than twenty years, first in the film and video community, and then in the book world. At present, he produces more than four-hundred audiobooks for the publishing giant every year.

Did you know that someone has performed The William Tell Overture at Carnegie Hall…on the harmonica? That “someone” was Buddy Greene! A songwriter, singer, guitar player, (and harmonica virtuoso) Buddy grew up in Macon, Georgia. The southern upbringing influenced much of his writing and many of his recordings with a country, bluegrass, and gospel flavor.
As a songwriter, his published works cross many genres. Perhaps most famously, Buddy co-wrote the Christmas classic Mary, Did You Know? with Mark Lowry. That one song has now been recorded by more than 500 artists! Buddy is also the creator of the thoughtful Recovering Pharisee and the biting, tongue-in-cheek masterpiece Jesus Has Left The Building.
Curiously, despite having written and published hundreds of songs–many of them recognizable–Buddy chose the work of other songwriters to perform for you. His humility and gentle spirit are a well known mark of his personality. And while songwriting is an obvious talent, Buddy Greene’s smooth baritone is the favorite voice of many performers whose own voices are better known by the public
Jimmy Yeary was writing songs long before becoming the lead singer of the Grammy Award winning supergroup SHENANDOAH. These were years that saw Jimmy performing #1 hits like Mama Knows, Somewhere In the Vicinity of the Heart, and Sunday in the South.
Today, in Nashville and Los Angeles, one of the most common calls in the music industry is from an artist’s representative to Sony Publishing requesting availability on songs from Jimmy Yeary’s catalogue of music. It’s not surprising. Jimmy has written more than two-thousand songs, many of which have been featured on albums selling millions of copies–Grammy winners, gold and platinum awards among them. Nine of Jimmy’s songs have been certified “Number 1” hits as singles by Billboard Magazine.
Recently, both the CMA and ACM awarded Jimmy Yeary with “Song of the Year” for I Drive Your Truck–the inspiring song he wrote about the father of a fallen soldier and how he continues to remember his son. Jimmy’s most recent Number 1 was Everything’s Gonna Be Alright, a song he wrote for Kenny Chesney and David Lee Murphy.
