Peace of Wisdom

A Life Offline

By Andy Andrews

According to news sources, many members of Generation Z are drawn to “Grandma hobbies.”

Think knitting, baking, gardening, woodworking, and reading. Even birdwatching!

Gen Z might be digital natives but they value quality time and authenticity. And they’re creating things that can be passed down to future generations.

Technology can be a wonderful tool indeed. My generation had to drive to the library or pore over an encyclopedia to find information. And a phone conversation only went as far as the cord would reach.

But have you felt disconnected lately? Maybe isolated?

How about going offline now and then?

You can have dinner at the table – without screens. (unless you want to grab a great Betcha Didn’t Know episode on Wisdom Harbour!)

Or how about a good talk with your spouse or a friend? With phones down?

You can go outside and play with the kids. Take a walk. Or get your hands in some dirt. Or build something. Or cook something.

You’ll feel more centered and present. More aware of your loved ones. And your blessings.

Your feeds, reels, and those influencers aren’t going anywhere. They’ll be there when you get back!

Today’s “Peace of Wisdom” can be found when you set time aside – offline.
