Peace of Wisdom

Letting Go

By Andy Andrews

We all carry baggage – bad habits, limiting beliefs, toxic relationships, or situations that drain our energy. Letting go of what no longer serves our growth and wellbeing takes some courage.

Holding onto these burdens often stems from a misguided sense of familiarity. The known, even if it’s painful, can feel safer than venturing into the unknown of letting that stuff go. But when we cling to the things that hold us back, we forfeit our ability to thrive.

Letting go requires being honest with ourselves about what thoughts, behaviors, and connections are genuinely benefitting our lives versus those that are holding us back.

From there, we take a deep breath and slowly start to let go, one decision at a time. We learn to trust that doing so will lead to good things, like leaves falling from a tree,  making room for new growth.

As we become skilled at identifying and releasing the mental and physical clutter, our lives begin to line up a little better with our values. We feel lighter, happier, and firmly rooted.

Today’s “Peace of Wisdom” can be found in the liberation of letting go.
