Because many of our Dockmasters are moms, dads, and grandparents, we believe you will quickly find great value for your family here.  Wisdom Harbour was created with some obvious advantages for you, the parent. The Dockmasters regularly unload barges filled with content and graphics designed to help you with the sometimes puzzling world of parenting.  

Wisdom Harbour’s first responsibility to you is not necessarily to help you raise great kids.  Instead, a large part of our mission is to help you raise kids who become great adults.  These are two different pathways that often lead to vastly different results.

Wisdom Harbour will always help you focus on “raising kids who become great adults.”  After all, that pathway includes shaping “great kids” as they become great adults.

The other pathway most parents believe to be the only option often produces uncertain – and sometimes unfortunate – results when a child leaves home.  How many times have you heard someone say, “They were such a great kid.  What happened?”

Students

The process of learning can sometimes be difficult, but at Wisdom Harbour, we believe it doesn’t ever have to be boring!  The various docks provide fun, understandable lessons delivered in bite-sized pieces that differ greatly from the more traditional style found in classroom settings.

The Curiosity Dock is heavily weighted toward science, history, and literature – and all video presentations are delivered in the manner of your all-time favorite teacher!  Betcha Didn’t Know and In Other Words are the starting point for these stories.

In addition to favorites, The Audio Book Dock also features some of the books that are required reading in school.  At Wisdom Harbour, when a “classic” is recorded, certain old English words are replaced with the modern equivalent. The meaning of every paragraph in every story remains the same.  The book, however, is delivered to the listener in an understandable way. So…sit back, close your eyes, and listen with your imagination!

Teachers

All over the world, teachers are finding Wisdom Harbour to be an enjoyable, helpful supplement to their regular course programs.  Various short videos provide unique context when occasionally used as a companion to lesson plans in subjects like history, science, literature, creative writing, music, and others.

In addition, the Curriculum Dock features complete downloadable curriculums for teachers K-5 through high school.  These curriculums are written for certain books ranging across a wide variety of study – history, literature, and life sciences – and are currently being used by teachers in more than 2,500 school systems.
