Were you ever a fan of Bruce Lee? If so, you may have heard his quote “I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once… I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times.”
What Bruce is conveying in this quote is the importance of repetition – practicing the same thing over and over again until you elevate your skills into expertise.
You can apply the practice of repetition in everything you do.
For example, if you’re tasked with giving a speech, practicing in front of the mirror several times will definitely help!
Repetition doesn’t only work with speeches and martial arts. Children can use the concept to learn their times tables. Actors to remember lines in a play. Surgeons who’ve spent more time than their peers in an operating room, or pilots with more hours in the air are more likely to be the experts in their fields.
Repetition is used as a tool to engrain the immediate memory of reliable actions and reactions into an individual. AAnd it works. So come on….just one more time.
Today’s Peace of Wisdom can be found again and again and again.
