Wayne Gretzky said, “You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.”
Michael Jordan said, “I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.”
Many people allow the process of analysis to continue beyond its intended boundary and as a result become paralyzed by the fear of failure. As a result, they end up doing nothing and becoming more frustrated than before. There comes a time when we simply must step forward…
Babe Ruth was known for hitting home runs. He hit 714 of them. But he struck out 1,330 times. Babe Ruth wasn’t afraid to strike out.
Neither should you be afraid to take action. What you might perceive as failure is often a valuable opportunity to learn. There are things you can’t learn without failing. But if you don’t take the swing, there’s no chance of a home run.
I’m not recommending you throw caution to the wind. Do your research, seek the advice of wise people…then…swing for the fence.
Today’s Peace of Wisdom comes from combining analysis, faith, and action.
