Peace of Wisdom
Giving

By Andy Andrews

A Native American legend tells of a man who taught his grandson about two wolves, a good wolf and an evil one, and the battle they have inside us. “Which one will win?” the grandson asked.

His grandfather’s wise answer?  “The one you feed.”

When you give, you feed the good wolf inside you. This is true whether you are generous with your money or your time. One of the great secrets to joy in life is to lose focus on ourselves and instead, think of others.

Albert Einstein said, “Only a life lived for other people is a life worthwhile.”

Time spent on someone else isn’t wasted, because you are making a difference whether you see the result of your actions or not.

You might not have a lot of money to spare, but even small amounts are multiplied.

When you make a habit of giving time or money, it will come back to you. Again, you might never see the end of the butterfly effect you began, but you can be sure that it is ongoing.

Today’s Peace of Wisdom comes from giving of yourself to others.
