Peace of Wisdom

Making a Difference

By Andy Andrews

It’s easy to feel overwhelmed … to feel like even when you’re giving something your best—be it a job, a relationship, a favorite cause—it’s not enough. After all, you’re just one lone voice in a proverbial sea of voices, right?

Depending on the situation, maybe you are…but what if everyone felt the same way and chose to remain silent or quit?

Edward Hale once said, “I am only one, but I am one. I can’t do everything, but I can do something. The something I ought to do, I can do. And by the grace of God, I will.”

When we seek to make a difference, instead of focusing on that sea of voices that seem to grow louder by the day (especially on social media)…focus on those that are closest.

You are only one…but to that individual who needs you, you’re the world.

You certainly can’t do everything, but that task that needs finishing could make all the difference in whether a deal is struck or your team is successful.

You cannot do everything, but you can do what you ought to do, consistently, with excellence.

Today’s Peace of Wisdom can be found in making a difference in the lives of others.
