Peace of Wisdom
Teamwork

By Andy Andrews

You’ve no doubt heard the phrase “teamwork makes the dreamwork.” It’s almost cliché, but there’s a reason phrases become cliches—because they are most often true.

Maybe your team seems more like a nightmare than a dream – a group of people striving to get their own way won’t go far.

Remind your team of its purpose. Most people will be surprisingly easy to work with if you’ll try to see things from their point of view. After all, there IS this idea known as compromise.

Babe Ruth said, “The way a team plays as a whole determines its success. You may have the greatest bunch of individual stars in the world, but if they don’t play together, the club won’t be worth a dime.”

A Super Bowl quarterback can’t win the game all by himself. Neither can a five-star general win a war.

A good leader draws out the best in everyone. A good leader will recognize each individual’s strengths. The result can be far more powerful than any one person could have accomplished alone.

Today’s Peace of Wisdom can be found in being a team player.
