How Artists of the Past Saw Our Future! (Part 3)
with Monica Earley

In 1899, a group of visionary French artists embarked on a unique challenge. They were tasked with illustrating the world of the year 2000, capturing their dreams and predictions in the project known as “En L’An 2000” or “In the Year 2000.” Although debates rage about the exact count of illustrations produced, most historians agree that the number lies between eighty to ninety.

Today, as we near the end of our journey, we’re thrilled to share the final collection from this exquisite series. While time has inevitably led to the loss of some pieces, the preserved works remain a testament to the limitless imaginations of our forebears. In this final installment, delve into 19 more windows offering a glimpse into the envisioned world of our ancestors. This is our last opportunity to wander through their vision of the future – a legacy that reminds us of the wonders of imagination and the unpredictability of time.
