Peace of Wisdom
Delayed Gratification

By Andy Andrews

“Delayed gratification.”

Have you ever heard that phrase? If you have, it’s probably because you practice a few of the principles we’ve discussed before.

You know, qualities like patience, effort, focus…Interesting how those three things could work in tandem to create this brand new feeling!

But it’s as much a goal there as it is a feeling, isn’t it?

Think about that day when you really wanted to stay home from work, just catch up on some sleep. Did you end up going to work anyway?  Of course.   And when you finally DID get home, I”ll bet that sleep felt better than it would, if you’d stayed home!

So first be patient.  You know what needs doing, so put the effort into doing it!  Put in that hard day’s work!

Because finally, when you stay focused enough to clear the way to this goal, you will experience it.

If you can attain the ability to postpone an immediate gain in favor of reward, you’ll have used key concepts previously covered in this series.

Today’s Peace of Wisdom can be found at the end of a hard day’s work.
