Peace of Wisdom
Happiness

By Andy Andrews

Do you know someone who is ALWAYS happy?

You know the kind – they’re always smiling….upbeat, always have something positive to add – even when they’re going through the worst of circumstances.

Are some people just born this way? … Are they crazy? … Is there some sort of secret the rest of us are missing?

Well, no. What you see in those who are consistently happy has been produced by years of practicing patience and having developed a grateful heart.

The happiest people we know are happy because they choose a perspective of gratitude. They make a conscious effort to be grateful for things society has conditioned the rest of us to see as problematic.

Think about it – we do most things a certain way because that’s the way we’ve always seen them done. That’s called conditioning.

That’s why it doesn’t feel natural to choose a grateful perspective – to choose to smile on the way to work, to say “hi” as we pass someone, or look for the good when every bit of the news we watch is bad.  But choose it we must…for the alternative is too depressing to contemplate.

Today’s Peace of Wisdom can be found in choosing a grateful perspective.
