Peace of Wisdom
The Power of Lies and the Freedom of Truth

By Andy Andrews

Have you ever tried to throw a surprise party? Remember all the fibs you had to tell just to keep it a secret? Once you tell one lie, often another must be told to keep the story intact.

That kind of “little white lie” is usually forgiven by everyone, but do we ever stop to think about the bigger lies we believe – or tell –  and how participating in them can affect others?

A great example is found in The Emperor’s New Clothes by Hans Christian Anderson. Everyone cared more about what people would think of them if they didn’t go along with the emporer’s delusional beliefs, rather than what was actually TRUE!  It took the honesty of a child to awaken everyone from their embarrassing pretense.

That story demonstrates how powerful and freeing the truth can be — remember the relief you feel when you no longer have to keep that surprise party a secret?

Refrain from believing or furthering lies. Dig deep to discover the truth. The heaviness you feel will be lifted.

Today’s Peace of Wisdom can be found by releasing yourself from the power of lies and allowing the truth to set you free!
