Peace of Wisdom
Mental Stability

By Andy Andrews

When you think about maintaining your mental health, what comes to mind?

Exercise … journaling … talking to a therapist?

I’m guessing nutrition wasn’t your first thought.

Your body needs proper fuel to function optimally.

It needs a certain amount of vitamins, minerals, and nutrients to make all the systems and functions perform!

It’s important to give your body the things it needs to nourish your physical and mental health.

The brain loves omega-three-fatty acids commonly found in salmon. Brain cells with high levels of these fatty acids can ‘communicate’ better with each other.

In other words, they improve thinking and memory.

Walnuts, berries, and leafy greens also make the brain happy.

Now don’t worry, I’m not suggesting you stop eating pizza or pasta! In fact, don’t take anything out of your diet.

Just ADD the good stuff! Eat pizza, but add a side salad.

Have some fried shrimp and hush puppies, but add a side of broccoli.

Drink more water each day.

This small shift can help change your perspective about fueling your body.

Today’s Peace of Wisdom can be found in using proper nutrition to support your mental health and help you perform at your peak.
