Peace of Wisdom
Strength

By Andy Andrews

Did you ever think math could teach you things beyond the page? How about a mathematician?

Ancient Greek philosopher and mathematician Pythagoras, known for his famous theorem, also dabbled in the personal and the worldly.

He once said “Choose rather to be strong of soul than strong of body.”

I’m willing to bet that when you think of strength you think of muscles…. or Superman. It’s okay.  Everybody does.

Not many would consider being strong of mind.  Do we not see mental strength to be as great an advantage?

As you work to develop yourself in life, you have an opportunity to grow mental strength.  You typically do this by reading, learning, failing…

Your physical strength will grow by exercising, eating right, and making healthy lifestyle choices. In time, good decisions will become routine.

But…. Kind of like a math formula, the equation requires specific variables.

As Pythagoras pointed out, “Choose always the way that seems the best, however rough it may be; custom will soon render it easy and agreeable.”

Today’s Peace of Wisdom can be found in the equations of your strength.
