In this stunning new collection, wildlife photographer Chris Irwin captures the essence of autumn in the Greater Yellowstone region. From a bugling bull elk commanding the valley to moose wading through gold-lined creeks, from an imposing bison in spring grass to black bears preparing for winter—each image tells a story of wild rhythms and seasonal change.
Chris Irwin’s passion for photography began in his youth, inspired by his Uncle Marvin and his 35mm camera. At seven, Chris received a Kodak 110 camera from his mom, and was instantly hooked. Growing up on a farm, he had endless subjects to capture, from horses to chickens. His childhood was filled with outdoor adventures—hunting, fishing, riding horses—and in high school, he joined the yearbook staff, discovering that a camera granted him unique experiences and unprecedented access to events.
After high school, Chris pursued further education in photography, mastering various camera formats and his subsequent career as senior staff photographer for Bass Pro Shops spanned 28 years. During this time, he traveled extensively, capturing stunning landscapes and incredible people across the U.S. and Canada. Visits to the National Elk Refuge, Grand Teton, and Yellowstone National Parks deepened his passion for wildlife photography.
In 2019, Chris began working as a guide in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, and Kansas, leading tours and safaris that highlight the beauty of these regions. Now with Jackson Hole Wildlife Safaris, Chris Irwin continues to introduce visitors to the wonders of national parks, focusing on wildlife and landscape photography. Here, Chris Irwin will bring his amazing encounters in the great outdoors to Wisdom Harbour.
